May I share one fabulous bible scripture with you? I am reading a book by Chuck Pierce called The Worship Warrior. A scripture that is suggested for memorizing is Zechariah 8:12 and reads in the Amplified translation of the bible: For there shall be a seed sowing of peace and prosperity; the vine shall yield her fruit, and the ground shall give its increase and the heavens shall give their dew and I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit and possess all these things. What a comforting picture this is of God’s ways! As I ponder this word, I see that peace and prosperity are the sprouts of the choices that we make, of the decisions that we choose in our daily life. We get to plant seeds of peace and prosperity. To plant a seed is a simple task. To plant a seed is to begin the process. And look at what follows. The scripture says that “the vine shall yield her fruit.” If we plant our seeds, the vine shall fruit. It says, “The ground shall give its increase.” If we plant our seeds, the ground will do its part to nourish the seed and cause it to sprout. “The heavens shall give their dew.” If we plant our seeds, the heavens will moisten, soften, refresh, renew, and replenish to cause the seed to grow. I think the dew also refers to the Holy Spirit of God. When the heavens give their dew, it’s like heaven kisses the earth, blesses the earth and gives its approval. And finally, the Lord, the “I” in the final phrase, “will cause the people to inherit and possess all these things.” If we plant our seeds, God will bring our inheritance to us and give us the ability to receive and possess it. All the the Lord is asking of us is to plant our seeds!

To me, this is a great relief. The bible tells us that God is the author and finisher of our faith. (Hebrews 12:2) So, if we plant our seeds with a real expectation of a good outcome, that is, with faith, the Lord will honor our planting and bring forth the best that we could hope for. Let’s plant in faith and expect God do His part. Then we will be satisfied and He will be honored.
